Built circa 1890, remodeled in 1930 and 1931 by architect Edward B. Lee, it is on the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks. Signs on the building say the following: "The Pittsburgh Club - Established 1878", "The Harvard-Yale-Princeton Club of Pittsburgh - 619 William Penn Place - Established 1930", and "The Allegheny Club - Established 1970".
