Description: Altenheim — 1720 MacArthur Boulevard, Dimond District, eastern Oakland, California. Originally a retirement home for German Americans. The current structure was built in 1909 according to a design by San Francisco architect Oscar Haupt, after the original structure was destroyed by fire.
