Description: In library science, an authority record usually has three parts: a header (the unique name chosen as the official one for library use), cross-references, and statements of justification which briefly give evidence of why a cataloger chose that particular heading. Irish writer Brian O'Nolan wrote under many pen names such as Flann O'Brien and Myles na gCopaleen. Catalogers chose "O'Brien, Flann, 1911-1966" as the official heading.
