Description: A member of the Apollo 7 crew is hoisted up to a U.S. Navy Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King recovery helicopter (BuNo 149918) from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 5 (HS-5) during recovery operations. The Apollo 7 spacecraft splashed down at 07:11 hrs, 22 October 1968, approximately 200 nautical miles south-southwest of Bermuda. Recovery ship was the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVS-9).
