Description: The #1 lock on the w:Fox River (Wisconsin) in w:Appleton, Wisconsin, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the w:Appleton Locks 1-3 Historic District. This was the location used by the Vulcan Power Plant, which was used to power the w:Hearthstone Heritage House Museum, the first house using Edison's lightbulbs powered by hydroelectric electricity.
