Description: A Royal Air Force Avro Lancaster B Mark I (R5852 "OL-Y") of No. 83 Squadron RAF based at Scampton, Lincolnshire (UK), in flight. This aircraft had originally been in service with No. 207 Squadron since March 1942. It was finally written off with No. 1645 HCU on 9 September 1942 when its pilot student overshot while landing at RAF Condover, Shropshire, England (UK).
