Description: El castell o comanda de Barbens és un casal residencial fortificat de l'orde del Temple, l'origen del qual es remunta al segle XII. El primer esment documental és de l'any 1168, quan n'era comanador Ramon Barrufell. Als inicis del segle XIV, com tota la resta de comandes templeres, va passar a mans de l'orde de l'Hospital de Sant Joan de Jerusalem o de Malta, que va senyorejar Barbens fins al segle XIX. La major part de la construcció correspon al segle XVI (torre quadrangular emmerletada de la cantonada) i sobretot al XVIII.
