Description: Bell X-1A resting in the belly of a B-29 Superfortress. [EDIT: the aircraft in the belly of the bomber seems non to be the Bell X-1A, but rather an X-1 of the first generation. The openable hatch on the left side and the lever which allowed to jettison it were not present on the X-1A; the pitot tube configuration also looks different from that of the X-1A, and the aircraft seems to be painted in orange, which was never the case with the X-1A. Unfortunately, the link to the original description page is broken and no direct check seems possible.]
