Description: Arms of Bray (ancient): Gules, three bends vair, as sculpted on the robe of the effigy in St Mary Magdalene's Church, Cobham, Kent, of Ann Bray (eldest daughter and co-heiress of w:Edmund Braye, 1st Baron Braye (c.1480-1539), of Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire) wife of George Brooke, 9th Baron Cobham (d.1558). Anne displays on her chest the two coats of arms of Bray: Argent, a chevron between three eagle's claws erased sable (centre, Bray modern) and Gules, three bends vair (on her left side, Bray ancient).
