Description: This Queen Anne style building, finished in 1888, was originally used as a dormitory for the women of Shepardson College. Formed out of the Young Ladies’ Institute, Shepardson College merged with Denison in 1927. This building is named for Dr. Nathan S. Burton, the founder of the Institute, and was built by Richards, McCarty and Bulsford of Columbus. Currently, this building houses Denison University’s Music Department.
