Description: Stilt Sandpiper, Micropalama himantopus or Calidris himantopus Original description: We don't get to see the Stilt Sandpiper very often in Northern California, so we were excited to find them on our trip to Texas with Bob Stewart in 2005. This was was in a flock of shorebirds at Indian Point Park, along the Gulf Coast, some still in basic plumage, as this one.
