The plaque contains the following text: TRIOKALA 104-99 BC - CALTABELLOTTA 2001 21 centenary of the "slave revolt" During the second servile war slaves of all Sicily gathered in the territory of Triokala choosing this sacred and inaccessible place as the stronghold for the revolt against the colonialism of Rome, writing one of the most sublime pages of human history. To honor and justice to Tryphon and Atenione a Satyr and all the rebellious slaves, the caltabellottesi citizens honors their historical memory.
