Description: Carex intumescens, greater bladder sedge, collected on June 11, 1978 by Hugh H. Iltis in bunches with many stems, perigynia light whitish-green, papery translucent; in swampy cold woods of Thuja occidentalis - Taxus canadensis - Betula papyrifera - Fraxinus. Second growth of Northern Coniferous forests in flat land NW of and near Lake Michigan on either side of Shivering Sands Creek. T28N, R27E, Sec. 32., Town of Sevastopol, Door County, Wisconsin.
