Description: The Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington Vermont, at 20 Pine Street, with grounds bounded by Pearl, St. Paul, and Cherry Streets, was built in 1974-77 and was designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes, with the grounds designed by landscape architect Dan Kiley. It replaced a cathedral of the same name built in 1862-67 that burned down in 1972. The Diocese of Burlington was established in 1852.
