Description: Originally built between 1772 and 1787, the church was converted to use as a Unitarian Church in 1817, and the ornate fan-vaulted ceiling was added to the interior in 1852. The church has seen extensive work and reconstruction of many features twice since then, following the collapse of the old tower into the building during the 1886 earthquake, and extensive roof damage during Hurricane Hugo in 1989.
