Description: Chatham Dockyard, Kent,England has the finest collection of 18th and 19th century naval dockyard buildings many of which are scheduled as ancient monuments. This steam powered sawmill was designed by Marc Brunel (father of IK Brunel). It has a series of reciprocating sawing-machines and a timber transport system linked to the mast ponds by underground canals.
