Description: The Rectory of the Church of the Ascension at 7 West 10th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built from 1839-1841 in the Gothic Revival style. Dr. Eastburn, the rector of the church, had the rectory built to revert Richard Upjohn, the architect of the church, from giving the sanctuary a deep chancel.
