Amber is very popular and important among the lithuanians and their descendents. It can have several colours and it is very common in Lithuanian handicraft and jewelry. It is also used in the costumes, and tradicionally can be used for medicial purposes as well. This resin is also known as "Lithuania´s gold" and, for that, it is reconigzed as the country´s national gem.
