Description: Cone for use with Hensen conical net. Invented by Victor Hensen of the University of Kiel in about 1883. He called this invention " Korbnetz." In 1901 he described an improved version that contained a tin-plate envelope. Between these dates, an intermediate form of this net and cone was used in the course of the Plankton Expedition of 1889.
