Description: Fourth table of the 24 tables painted by the new Spanish artists Juan González and Miguel González. The paintings represent Hernán Cortés' entrance into Mexico, from the sinking of his carracks in San Juan de Ulúa to the fall of the city of Tenochtitlan. This painting represents Cortés' entrance into the city of Cempoala, where he was welcomed by its ruler, Xicomecoatl (also known as Chicomácatl or "Fat Cacique").
