In 1976 work began on the Control Tower which was restored and opened in 1981 to provide an excellent museum in memory of the 140,000 US airmen who were killed. Also based here is the Museum of the British Resistance Organisation - The Auxiliary Units. Open Sundays and Bank Holidays from March to October and really worth a visit
