Description: (1 in a multiple picture album) Besides having one of the prettiest settings for any lake, Convict Lake carries with it the history of the old west. Previously called Diablo Lake, the name was changed when a posse followed some escaped convicts from Carson City, NV here and there was a shootout. One of the lawman was killed and the peak in the distance is named for him Mt. Morrison. He was a Wells Fargo Agent.
