Description: The name of “Barn Doi Chang” is named after the shape of the mountains where it is located which has the shape which looks like a mother and a calf of elephants walking toward the north (Chaing Rai Province). Doi Chang is famous for being one of the largest coffee farms in Thailand. It is a place where Waree Highland Agricultural Experimental Station is located. It is also the place for promotion of growing temperate plants in order to reduce mobile plantations or farming. It is located at over 1,000 meters above sea level and the weather is cool all year round. It is suitable for growing Arabica coffee with high productivity. There are also farms growing temperate fruits such as various nuts such as Macadamia nuts, plums, peaches, persimmon, etc.
