Description: Eastney Evangelical Free Church, Eastney Road, Eastney, City of Portsmouth, England. This functional building dates from 1966 but has a complex history. In 1867 a tin tabernacle was erected for Bible Christian Methodists at 40 Albert Road, Southsea. A new church (Southsea Central Hall) was built on the site in 1901, and the tin tabernacle was moved to a new site on Eastney Road where it became a Primitive Methodist chapel. It later became the Eastney Gospel Mission, and then in about 1963 it gained its current name. The old building was taken down in 1966 and the present church was built on the site.
