Description: Este retrato sigue los modos de representación privativos del pintor hanseático Michel Sittow, que están muy vinculados al arte flamenco por su aprendizaje en la escuela de Brujas. Esta obra podría ser incluida en el período tardío de la actividad del pintor y aproximadamente en las fechas en que viajó por segunda vez a España pasando por los Países Bajos. El historiador José Luis Sancho ientificó al retratado, y muy acertadamente según algunos autores, con Odet de Foix (1485-1528), conde de Cominges y vizconde de Lautrec, basándose en el gran parecido del personaje con el retrato de cuerpo entero de dicho individuo que se conserva en el Palacio del Senado de Madrid y que procede de la antigua colección del marqués de Leganés.
