Description: The Embassy of the Philippines' former chancery located on Scott Circle at 1617 Massachusetts Avenue, NW in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Constructed in 1913 for John Sidney Webb, the building is a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District. It served as the Embassy of the Philippines from 1946 to 1993 (the new embassy is located across the street), but is still owned by the Filipino government. The 2009 property value of the 12,000 square foot building is $5,165,000. The Embassy of Australia is the building seen on the right, and the Benjamin T. Rome Building (part of Johns Hopkins University's Washington, D.C. campus) is on the left.
