Aquino III welcomes Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on durting their arrival in Manila Tuesday, January 26, 2016 on a five-day tour to pay their respects for those who lost their lives there during World War II and to promote international goodwill. Their five-day state visit will include a wreath laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument, a visit to the Libingan ng mga Bayani, a state banquet in Malacañang, as well as visits to the Japanese Garden in Lake Caliraya in Laguna and the International Rice Research Institute in Los Baños, Laguna.
