Description: Stone carving by Mawer and Ingle on the exterior of Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The building was designed by Flockton and Abbot for Sir John Brown (1816-1896), and erected 1863-1865. Part of frieze, featuring the conical or volute spring, invented by John Brown.
