Description: Approaching London Heathrow Airport from the South we had just left a "hold" and were being directed towards the approach path for a westerly landing. The M25, otherwise known as the London Orbital Motorway encircles the city and is 117 miles long. For much of my aerial photography I prefer to use my 45 year old Nikon 50mm manual focus lens. Automatic focus lenses sometimes "hunt" to get a focus in these circumstances whereas the manual type never fail when you only have a couple of seconds to get a shot.
