Description: U.S. Navy Ensign Jesse L. Brown in the cockpit of a Vought F4U-4 Corsair of Fighter Squadron 32 (VF-32) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Leyte (CV-32), in 1950. He was the first African-American to be trained by the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator, and such, became the first African-American naval aviator to see combat and the first to be killed (on 4 December 1950).
