Lo svedese Magnusson era appellato dai media italiani come l'attaccante «di coppa» della Juventus poiché, stante l'allora blocco del calcio italiano verso l'utilizzo di giocatori stranieri nei campionati nazionali, lo svedese poté essere schierato dai piemontesi unicamente nelle manifestazioni europee.
