It is a 5-metre-high bronze sculpture by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi that portrays Michael Faraday, the discoverer of electricity, with force lines representing light, sound, magnetism and electricity. The base is inscribed with a quotation from T.S.Eliot's "Dry Savages" stating that the purpose of a university education is "to travel, listen, think and change". www.brumagem.co.uk/Art_Public_University_Birmingham.shtm
