Description: The David G. Farragut Memorial, located in Farragut Square, an urban park and city square in downtown Washington, D.C., that is administered by the National Park Service. The bronze statue honoring Admiral David Farragut was sculpted by Vinnie Ream, and dedicated on April 25, 1881. It is one of seventeen Civil War statuary in Washington, D.C., that were collectively listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 20, 1978. The 1000–1300 blocks of Connecticut Avenue, N.W. (facing north towards Dupont Circle), are visible in the background.
