Description: Flag of the City of Vaughan, Ontario. The City of Vaughan flag was raised for the first time at a ceremony on May 2nd, 1988, following a contest organized by Vaughan’s Industrial Advisory Board. Designed by then 15-year-old Vaughan student Michael Vite, the flag features a white field and four blue stripes representing the four main communities of Vaughan at the time: Kleinburg, Maple, Thornhill and Woodbridge. The four stripes are joined together at the centre with the symbol of Canada, the red maple leaf.
