Description: Foley House Foley House in Goat Street was built by John Nash around 1790 for a local lawyer John Foley. A frequent visitor was his brother Sir Thomas Foley, an admiral of Nelson's fleet and 'hero of the Nile' (naval battle, 1798). Nelson and Lady Hamilton visited here in 1802. The interior of the house is said to have a very interesting design. It is a crying shame to see this dignified and historic mansion in such a dilapidated state. It has been empty since last used as offices by Pembrokeshire CC and, incredible though it seems, recently there have been plans to drive an access road through the grounds at the back. Wake up Haverfordwest before it is too late!
