Description: The former Bank of British North America building in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. A three-and-a-half-storey brick building with mansard roof and Italianate features which housed many of Newfoundland’s major banks from 1849 to 1985; closely associated with the evolution of banking in Newfoundland. Currently the building serves as the Anna Templeton Centre, a non-profit crafts and arts training and education centre. The building was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1990 and a City of St. John's Heritage Building in 1989.
