Description: Built in 1882, Mount Herman Presbyterian Church was one of six churches in Amelia County, Virginia, built by freed slaves with funds from philanthropist and educator Samantha Jane Neil. The church was vacant from the 1970s until 2018, by which point it had fallen into serious disrepair. Jim and Beth Stanley purchased the building and restored it. In 2020, they sold it to the Church of the Holy Cross, a Reformed Episcopal Church plant. In 2022, Holy Cross added a parish hall to the church building.
