Description: The tartan of the Fraser Fencible Regiment (raised 1794–95, and disbanded in 1802). This pattern was also marketed simply as "Fraser" in the 1819 Key Pattern Book of Wilsons of Bannockburn, and called that in the Highland Society of London’s collection (1815–1822), and in the Cockburn collection (c. 1810s–1825). This image is exactly full-sett, and can tile horizontally and vertically. Scottish Register of Tartans notes on this pattern: "The Inverness Fencibles were at one time known as the Fraser Fencibles. This tartan is sometimes considered as the Fraser Ancient, Lovat Tartan. Paton collection used to be in the Scottish Tartans Society archive, it is now back with the Paton firm at Alloa." Warning: some of that in incorrect. In particular, the Inverness[-shire] Fencibles were a completely different unit raised the same year, and there is no evidence they used this tartan. This is an asymmetric, non-mirroring tartan. Thread count (in "..." notation): ...B2 R2 B20 G20 R26 G4 R26 G20 R2 B2 R2 B20 R2 B2 R2 G20 R26 G4 R26 G20 B20 R2...
