Description: This photograph was taken by me at the Kedareshvara temple (also spelt Kedaresvara or Kedareshwara) in Balligavi (also called variously as Belgami, Belligave, Balligamve and Ballipura in ancient inscriptions) in the Shimoga district of Karnataka state, India. The temple was built in the late 11th century by the Western Chalukya Empire rulers with architectural updates into the first half of 12th century during the rule of Hoysala Empire.
