Description: Two of General Patton's most famous pistols: a Colt Single-Action Army .45 and Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolvers. While rarely carried on both hips at the same time, both were frequently carried by General Patton during his service. The Colt SAA was one of his first personal military side arms, carried and used during his first gun fight with Mexican bandit lieutenant Julio Cardenas in 1916. He continued to carry the pistol intermittently until his death. The .357 Smith & Wesson was purchased by Patton while serving as G-2 for the 24th (Hawaiian) Division in the 1930s and continued to carry it as well. Both pistols feature engraving of Patton's initials "GSP" on the handles. The leather cartridge belt is a custom US Officer's model purchased by Patton and worn throughout WWII.
