Description: General Patch Bridge in Oregon’s Deschutes National Forest (viewing south from the east side of the Deschutes River). The bridge was built by Army Corps of Engineers in 1944 during the U.S. Army’s “Oregon Maneuver” combat training exercise. The bridge was named in honor of General Alexander M. Patch who led the Oregon Maneuver. The Forest Service demolished the structure in 2008.
