Description: "Leaden cross found in Arthur's grave, Glastonbury" is the caption to the reproduction of the same image as found in Lacy ed., The New Arthurian Encyclopedia (1986), "Glastonbury", p.240. Inscription reads:"HIC IACET SEPVLTVS INCLITVS REX ARTVRIVS IN INSVLA AVALONIA". The illustration is in Camden's Britannia (1607) but lacking in other dated editions. In the book, the immediately preceding text reads: "Sed ecce crucem illam et inscriptionem" (Englished as: "But behold the said Crosse and Epitaph therein.")
