Description: ~Gaja Stream Valley Tumuli. Based on local information board: On the eastern side of the Gaja Valley (Gorge) there are nine early Iron Age mound tombs dating from around 500-550 BC. Cremated bodies were buried in pots or scattered. Weapons, tools and the remains of a funeral tor were also found at the burial ground. Mounds were erected over the graves of dignitaries. The graves were looted, two remained intact, which were excavated between 1983 and 1987. The tomb of one of them was a ~log cabin made of oak planks, covered with stones and then earth. Large vessels were found in them: swords, axes, horse tools, the remains of the funeral feast, and in a smaller urn women's ashes and a pair of bronze hairpins. The significance of the cemetery is given by the fact that due to the special weather conditions the structure of the building remained intact and due to its protection the large number of archaeological finds could be excavated in good condition. The small mound tomb No. four, which was not disturbed, had no wooden structure, it was made of stone covered with earth. A female dead person was buried here, numerous fragments of pots, pots and lids were found in this place. - along Red stripe ('P-' sign on maps) trail, Gajavölgy (~Gaja Stream Valley), Fehérvárcsurgó, Fejér County, Hungary.
