Description: Picture of the Homewood Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh located at 7101 Hamilton Avenue in the Homewood South neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 7, 2010. The library, which opened on March 10, 1910, was designed by the architectural firm Alden & Harlow (architect Howard K. Jones was working for the firm at the time). The building is on the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations. This library supposedly had a larger budget than some of the other branches of the Carnegie library at the time it was built, and some attribute this to the fact that Andrew Carnegie and his brother Thomas lived in the neighborhood.[1] Many years later, this library was featured in an episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.[2]
