In the centre, marshal Moncey gives his orders to goldsmith Claude Odiot, colonel of the national guard, for whom the painting was made. This art piece was commissioned by Jean-Baptiste Claude Odiot, who served as a French colonel during the courageous but doomed defence of Paris 1814.
