Poliuto by Gaetano Donizetti was the opera given to inaugurate the new opera season and Maria Callas interpreted the role of Paolina. For the occation were present the most prominent personalities of the world of culture, politics and nobility. As usual there was a great display of new fashions worn by charming women of high society of whole Italy and foreign contries.
