Description: At its height, Newfoundland had over forty hotels and boarding houses that catered to the tourists that flocked to the area for its magnificent scenery and healthful climate. Of all the hotels that once graced the region, only one, the resort hotel know as Idylease remains standing as proof of a once thriving tourism industry. Opened on New Year’s Day in 1903, Idylease thrived during the Ragtime Era.
