Description: Exterior view of the Innis House. Located along Sunken Road, the Innis House is closest to the intersection of the modern Mercer and Willis Streets in Fredericksburg. The Innis House was used as a firing position by Confederate sharp shooters during the Battle of Fredericksburg. The Innis House was a private residence until the 1970's when it was sold to the park and the exterior was restored to its 1962 appearance. The section of stone wall in front of the Innis House was restored in 2004.
