Description: Bronze sculpture of the head of a rhinoceros outside the University of Edinburgh's Informatics Forum. Unveiled on the 22nd of August 2012 by Jim Haynes, it commemorates his Paperback Bookshop "at the sign of the rhinoceros head", which stood nearby on George Square in the 1950s and '60s. A stainless steel plaque below is inscribed: This sculpture by William Darrell is in celebration/ of the cultural richness of Jim Haynes' Paperback/ Bookshop (1959-67) and of the merger between/ the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh/ College of Art (2011) which extends that/ richness many-fold.
