Description: John Knox house, and the Netherbow wellhead There is plenty of information already on this site about the John Knox house. The Netherbow wellhead is said to be the oldest surviving wellhead in the city; originally designed and built around 1675, it has since undergone rebuilding and restoration work a number of times, most recently in 1997. The water comes (or came) from the Comiston Springs via the Castlehill reservoir.
